Nuthatch



Description:

The female Red-breasted Nuthatch is duller in color than the male. They inhabit coniferous forests and mountainous regions. They have two stripes by their eyes, white is above the eye and black goes through it. Range: Canada to Western and Northeastern U.S.

White-breasted nuthatches are the largest of the nuthatch family. They have gray backs with a black head. Its face and belly are white. White-breasted nuthatches are partial to most parts of the U.S., except for some areas of the Plains and the Southwest.
