Description:

The female Evening Grosbeak is smaller than the male, and instead of white patches on its wings like the male the female has yellow on its nape and sides. They are often found in coniferous trees and shrubs. Range: all year in Southern Canada and Western U.S., During the winter it likes the U.S. except the Southeast.

The appearance of the female Rose-Breasted Grosbeak is similar to a sparrow except for the red breast. They inhabit woods, orchards and thickets. Range: from Southern Canada and Eastern U.S. to lower South.
